Stearling Silver

Sterling silver is a high-quality silver alloy containing not less than 92.5% silver content. This is widely used in fine jewelry because it balances beauty with durability.

MUSSELS STUDIO exclusively uses recycled sterling silver in all pieces. By repurposing existing precious metals, we reduce the need for newly mined materials while maintaining the same high quality, purity, and durability.

Over time, sterling silver can develop a natural patina or tarnish when exposed to air and moisture. Though this is not permanent and can easily be cleaned and polished to restore its shine.

Care

To prevent your silver from oxidizing, wear it often as skin oil protects it. Though we recommend that you do not swim, bathe, or shower in your jewelry. 

Storing your jewelry dry in a dustbag or box, will prevent unwanted tarnish. If tarnishing does occur, gently clean your jewelry using a dry soft polishing cloth or with mild soap and warm water.

To care for cultured pearls, wipe them with a soft, dry or damp cloth after each wear to remove oils and perspiration.

Always apply makeup and perfume before putting on pearls, as chemicals can damage the nacre.
